Presidents’ Report February 2018

Hi Everyone,

Pauline Rowe

Pauline Rowe

Well it is the start of a New Year and hopefully everyone has had a good break over the Xmas period.

Firstly, two of our LCIT members our very own Vice President Janice Harle and Dr. Criss Moore finished the year off on a momentous high with both being awarded the most prestigious award from Liverpool Council – The Companion of the Order of Liverpool  (CLO) for their tireless work in the community.

Janice is an active member of the Quota Club of Liverpool, Rotary Club of Liverpool Greenway and Picton Probus Club. She helps to raise funds for Liverpool Hospital and is involved in the planning of Police Officer of the Year Awards. Janice goes above and beyond helping many residents of Liverpool and surrounding areas.

Criss has been devoted to supporting the Casula community in stopping inappropriate development near retirement homes and educational establishments. Criss also runs a kid’s club for socially disadvantaged children and a camp for teens with disabilities, along with a soup kitchen and care for many people living rough on the streets. Criss and her husband have devoted their lives to those less fortunate.

I know I join everyone in saying congratulations to both Janice and Criss for their tremendous efforts and it is nice to see them both recognised, they deserve it.

Our first Council Meeting of the year is this coming Wednesday the 7th February 2018 and let us hope that the good work done by our Councillors Harle and Rhodes continues this year and we see a more harmonious effort by all Councillors to better the Liverpool Community for all residents.

Look forward to catching up with everyone.

Pauline
